animal, not vegetable or mineral

So I decided this weekend I really want an animal. I dont' want a dog, too much work. I dont' want a cat, I hate them. I want a small animal, like a hamster or whatever.

I just looked into getting a Ferrett. Yeah, that's not happening. They last 6-10 years, which is okay. They can be litter box trained, which I think is freaking cool. BUT - they smell, which I have known for a long time. They can use the corner of a room as a bathroom. And I have a roommate, and I don't think the roomie would like that much.

And, I have just found out that you need a permit in St. Paul to have a ferret, and you don't need a permit in Minneapolis, but it could be taken away.

*sigh* think I might just get a fish...
